The City Reaching the Sky: Istanbul

About the Artwork with The Artist's Words:

For me, Istanbul is a spirit that carries the traces of two great civilisations from the past to the present. What makes it most special is how it intertwines history with the present.

In this work, I drew inspiration from classic Ottoman tiles. I brought together the powerful reds and oranges of fire with the cool blues of water, cobalt and turquoise tones. Because this city always reminds me of fire and water, the harmony of opposites.

The ascent seen on the canvas expresses the city's reach from earth to sky with light, sound and spirit. The sound of the call to prayer and the rhythm of the prayers keep this city alive. That is why the energy here is so high.

The houses and buildings are always at peace with the light of the sky, and the vitality never wanes.

With the hope that everyone who sees ‘The City Reaching the Sky: Istanbul’ will find a story of their own…

This is a fine print of the original artwork.
