About the Artwork:
In the Qur'an, there are letters at the beginning of certain surahs known as "Huroof Al-Muqatta," whose meanings are hidden from people. Who knows how many wisdoms are hidden in the fact that their meanings have not been revealed by Allah? These letters are those that remind a person of their limits while developing the consciousness of servitude recalling their Lord, and that provide information about the unseen that is beyond their understanding. Perhaps it was only revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH,) for The Quran reached people through him.
This work contains the Huroof Al-Muqatta that are positioned at the beginning of a total of nine particular surahs. In order, a total of 19 letters with hidden meanings have been written: "Yâ, Sîn," "Nûn," "Kaf," "Sad," "Elif, Lâm, Râ," "Elif, Lam, Mim," "Elif, Lam, Mim, Ra," "Tâ, Hâ," and "Tâ, Sîn." This letter count also gives us the number of 19 letters in the phrase "Bismillâhirrahmânirrahîm," and thus the work allows us to read the Basmala in a hidden way.
